Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and consent participants referred to the Eremet onsite laboratory for specimen collection
  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare samples for investigation purposes
  • Collect oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs as required
  • Accurately label and analyze samples (blood, NP/OPs, tissue etc.)
  • Proper documentation of applicable study data during all study procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance of lab equipment
  • Monitor the status of laboratory supplies and make necessary orders
  • Complete QA/QC assignments on laboratory data, samples and records
  • Keep lab work areas clean and organized
  • Assist with laboratory administrative duties.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

1 Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Mandatory
2 Fluency in English Turkana and Swahili both written and spoken. Mandatory
3 Be registered and with a valid practicing license from the KMLLTB Mandatory
4 Certificate in “Good Clinical Practice” and/or “Human Subjects Protection” Mandatory
5 Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite. Mandatory
6 Someone who has experience in working in Isiolo county Mandatory
7 Excellent communication skills, ability to work well in a team Mandatory
8 Experience working knowledge in research Mandatory
9 Excellent interpersonal and organization skills Mandatory
