Agriculture Trainer Coordinator - Kisumu or Migori
Key Responsibilities:
- i.Implement the agricultural components of Vijana Shamba and Mama Shamba studies
- ii.Develop the content for the agriculture training manual (both studies) -
- iii.Develop the training manual and schedules
- iv.Develop video, print, audio, and in-person training materials with support from the Study Manager and Demonstration Farm Trainers
- v.Work with other partners to incorporate appropriate training materials into the training (print, video, audio, in-person, etc)
- vi.Demonstration Farms
- vii.Identify demonstration farm locations communities (Mama Shamba)
- viii.Oversee the demonstration farms
- ix.Leasing and protection (Mama Shamba)
- x.Designing, preparation, composting, and planting (including seedbed production) with support from the farm trainers and study participants (both studies)
- xi.Ensure equitable distribution of vegetables to pregnant women (Mama Shamba) and seedlings (both studies) from the model farms as they are preparing their farms at home
- xii.Develop a guided demonstration farm training schedule and harvesting regime (Mama Shamba)
- xiii.Supervision of Farm Trainers at each demonstration farm and supportive supervision for participants
- xiv.Oversee the training of the farm trainers to ensure a thorough understanding of the theory and practice of vegetable production to improve participants’ health and nutrition and provide income for their families.
- xv.Oversee training of the intervention participants by the farm trainers at the demonstration farms
